LIVE AT THE FILLMORE EAST

Synopsis

Live at The Fillmore East tells the fascinating story of the larger-than-life music producer and impresario Bill Graham, during the transformation of rock and roll music from an idealistic youth social movement into a cutthroat industry.  Using the 3 short years that Graham’s Fillmore East was open as the framework (1968-1971), Live at The Fillmore East shows the myriad of forces that revolutionized the art, culture and business of rock music and set the course for everything to come.  Directed by Academy Award winner Leon Gast (When We Were Kings) and photographer/filmmaker Amalie R. Rothschild, the film features Rothschild’s extraordinary archive of 16mm film footage and over 20,000 photos shot during that time
